Swiss National Bank releases new 1000-Franc note today.

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) will begin issuing the new 1000-franc note today (13 March 2019 ) .

The SNB counters in Berne and Zurich, as well as at the SNB agencies located in the head offices of 14 cantonal banks, Commercial banks and Swiss Post will begin issuing the new banknotes shortly.

The 1000-franc note focuses on Switzerland’s communicative flair, as expressed by language, the note’s key motif. Core design elements of the currency are the hand and the globe, which appear on every denomination in the new series. The main colour of the new 1000-franc note is purple. The new notes are smaller and easier to handle. An innovative combination of complex security features and sophisticated design provides the currency state-of-the-art anti-counterfeiting protection.
