Romania - Commemorative banknote dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Union on 1 December 1918.

As a dedication to the anniversary of 100 years since the Great Union on 1 December 1918, the National bank of Romania will put into circulation, a commemorative collector banknote with the face value of lei 100.  The portraits of King Ferdinand 1st and Queen Maria is on the right. On two rows below, their names and years of life are shown respectively as “ The King of Ferdinand 1st 1865-1927” and “Regina Maria 1875-1938”.

On the top left, there is the Romanian coat of arms and below it, the name of the Central Bank -“National Bank of Romania”, below it, is a medal with the logo NBR and the years 1918-2018 just below it. The nominal value is entered four times horizontally down in figures “100”, in the bottom right in letters on two rows and in the lower middle “LEI UNA SUTA” and vertically in the bottom right, in letters “UNA STUT LEI” and in upper right vertically in “100” digits. The central part above the nominal value has the signatures of the Governor and the Central cashier printed in letters. Vertically to the right the release date namely 1st December 2018 is printed.

On the reverse side of the banknote, the entrance of the royal alley in Bucharest in December 1st 1918 is illustrated and also there is a fragment from the royal palace of Ferdinand 1st and four women in folk costumes specific to each united Romanian province i.e Bessarabia, Romania, Transylvania and Bukovina. The text written below is “False of these tickets will be understood by law”.

Horizontally higher the name of the  Central bank “NationalBank of Romania” is placed and at the top right and bottom left the NBR logo is positioned. Series and banknote number are printed in two colours; red and black. The safety components include a variable colour band and a visible light-proof element. A watermark is located to the left of the obverse, which is visible when tilted. On the edges of the transparent window the text “ROMANIA 100” is written. The magnetic safety thread has a microtext in negative “ 1 DECEMBER 1918 1 DECEMBER 2018”. At different angles of inclination the ink that changes colour from golden to green. In the central area in the vertical direction laser micro- perforations representing the nominal value “100” is located.
