The newly printed Rwf 500 and Rwf 1000 notes will be out by next week, announced central bank. In a span of 3 years a german company won a tender to print the notes at a Rwf 5 billion cost or 1.6 billion each year. Till the central bank will be done with the cost of the new notes, both current and new notes will continue to circulate together till the end of 3 years.
Monday, next week the new bank notes will be in circulation. The banks lending rate remained the same (5.5) as in the previous quarter as announced by Rwangombwa.
