The new 1000-krone banknote was put into circulation on November 14, 2019. The launch marks the end of the new banknote series. The first four denominations of Norway’s new series were launched in 2017 and 2018.
The motifs on all the denominations of the series depict the sea. The 1000-krone from the previous series may be continued for a year from November 14, 2019. The Norges bank is then obliged to redeem the note for an additional 10 years.
